Hi! Thank you so much for dropping by! My name is Joseph but everyone calls me J. and I am a photographer from the Washington, DC area, Maryland to be exact. I provide photography for couples who are bold, beautiful and fearless, I capture photographs not for awards or accolades but because I find happiness seeing people as they fearlessly and selflessly profess their declaration of love.
Why I Love Wedding Photography
I love wedding photography because I get to connect with amazing couples of different backgrounds. I get to experience deeply emotional and shared moments with people. I am fascinated by the art of capturing a fleeting moment and having it last forever. My photography vision is molded by each couple I meet and I love the thrill of mixing my creativity to produce one of a kind imagery.
What is Your Goal With Wedding Photography?
My photography’s purpose is to capture true, authentic emotions and real moments. My photojournalistic photography approach ensures I capture these vivid feelings. My goal is to take home with me images full of raw, genuine, loving emotions and in return, give to you photos of your fearless act of love and the life changing moments.
How Did You Get Your Start?
I began photography in 2015 with a simple camera and bountiful curiosity and taught myself everything I know about photography through practice, reading and hands on trial and error. With almost 10 years of experience, have photographed hundreds engagements, weddings including elopements, intimate ceremonies and traditional weddings as well as cultural Jewish, South Asian and Indian weddings. My first real wedding came while working with a wedding industry friend and everyone kept telling me how anxious and fast paced it was going to be but I found it easy and it never rattled my thinking or resolve. With so much going on during wedding day, i’m always one of the most calm people in the room.
Tell Me About You. The REAL You.
On wedding day, im the same person you met during our calls and i think thats important because I dont want to be a stranger. I LOVE wedding day and getting to meet your friends and family and getting to cheer you on! On a more personal level, I am a nerd. I was a nerd before being a nerd was cool and now I am an expert nerd. I love horror movies, especially original horror movies because I love seeing the heritage and how things have changed and how corny they used to be but it shows how much they’ve changed and grown too. I also love to read but only if I can have the physical book because I love that new book smell and have always wanted to build my own personal library.
I bake far too often and will tell you banana bread is perfect for any meal of the day. One thing no one guesses about me is that I am a massive Paramore and Taylor Swift fan and I have seen them both on tour and fan-girl so hard every single time. I also have a chubby tabby cat named Gordita. She is often featured on my instagram and is an avid people watcher from my balcony.
