This summer while it was still warm and we had sunsets after 7PM, I met up with Nick and Sherry for a session right after they said their wedding vows in a small, private courthouse wedding ceremony in Washington, DC. I had actually been speaking with Nick for a few weeks before their wedding date and he wanted to surprise Sherry with a session while they still had their post-wedding glow. They arrived in Georgetown for what was disguised as an early dinner where I was waiting and ready to meet them.
Nick had an idea of where he wanted to take their portraits and asked me if I knew somewhere in Georgetown that would make a beautiful backdrop. To me, all of Georgetown is a beautiful backdrop. Its filled with charm, history, color and is far enough away from the busy intersections of Washington, DC to where you can still make an entire neighborhood your playground. And so we did!
Georgetown is one of my favorite locations for wedding portraits in the DC area because of the abundance of little spots you can use for outstanding portraits. There is a spot there for everyone even if you’re a shy and reserved couple or maybe an outgoing bunch who loves to be in the center, it can all be found here,
