Tiffany and Ritchie’s fall engagement session in Gaithersburg was simple, beautiful and full of color.
There is a reason why everyone loves autumn. Maybe because its football season or because the weather is nice enough for your favorite flannel. For me, it’s the undeniable calmness in the air and the colors of the world. Orange, red and yellows shifting among the green trees and blue skies; it often reminds of the warmth and comfort of a weekend campfire and stuffing s’mores in my mouth. Tiffany and Ritchie threw on their favorite fall sweater and cuddled up to savor the fall warmth. We walked through a small hiking trail in Gaithersburg and set up while the sun was setting down. Our session was simple and romantic and provided them a lot of photographs to use for their destination wedding.
I’ve detailed my love for engagement sessions and explained why they are so important and necessary in previous blog posts. If you’re planning your engagement, one question that comes up a lot is “how long do engagement sessions last?” Although there is no one correct answer, most sessions can be anywhere from 1 to 3 hours depending on your location or locations for the engagement, outfit changes you may be having and how much detail or artistry you and your photographer agree on. Tiffany and Richie’s engagement session lasted an hour and we really wanted to capture the warm sun with nature and vibrant fall outfits. Creating a cohesive feel was something that we discussed and was highly favored on the couples engagement mood board. The sun highlighted the couple so well the entire session. Wether we put the sun behind the couple or in front of them, they really shined through their environment.
