Kentland’s Mansion Wedding Maryland

Check out Aidan and Marcie’s Kentland’s Mansion wedding in Maryland. This venue is secretly one of the best wedding venues in the Maryland area for a small or intimate weddings. Somehow, people seem to either forget or not know that it hosts weddings.

The mansion itself is a textbook classic. It’s got that historic red-brick charm that looks like it’s been around for a couple hundred years—because it has—but it still manages to feel fresh. The mood is “your classiest friend just bought a mansion and invited you over for an epic party,” not “old museum tour with mediocre catering.”

Located right in Gaithersburg, MD, you don’t have to deal with DC parking nightmares or hauling your crew out to a hot barn in the middle of nowhere. It’s easy to get to, it’s classic and timeless, and won’t eat your entire budget alive. They also allow you to customize your entire day from food, to beverages and entertainment.  That’s a win for anyone wedding planning. Your wedding, your way.

For photography? This place delivers. You’ve got clean, natural light inside for getting ready. It’s got a grand staircases for perfect portraits. A wraparound porch that is perfect for a “just married” champagne pop photo or a celebratory send off. The upstairs balcony is a popular, photo spot, especially during golden hour when the light does all the work for you.

But what I really like is how flexible it is. I’ve shot black tie weddings, multi-cultural weddings here.  I’ve also seen chill, laid back weddings with board games and karaoke. Somehow, it all works. The mansion’s got it all to make it feel like yours.

About The Couple, Aidan and Marcie:

  • How did you two meet?

“We met during our first day at Virginia Tech; in fact, after the graduate student orientation, we walked downtown together to see what stores Blacksburg had.”

  • Tell me about your first date or proposal. What do you remember about it and how you were feeling?

“On our very first date, we went to a local brewery in Blacksburg. We got right into talking about our values and our hopes, since we had already known each other for a couple of years. What we remember most about that date is how well aligned the two of us were.”

From Aidan: “Marcie designed a scavenger hunt and puzzle; puzzle pieces hidden in classical books all around the apartment, each with a poetic clue leading to the next. Once all the books were gathered, the puzzle pieces gave the order of the books, which displayed the final message: “Will you marry me?”

  • What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?

“We’re looking forward to hearing each other’s vows and being able to share them with everyone. We’re also looking forward to introducing our friends and family to some new experiences, like the Ethiopian food we’re having, and some of the board games we’re bringing. “

  • What is one thing (or a few things) you want to remember the most when you look back on your wedding day?

“We want to remember the joy of the day, and the atmosphere of togetherness shared with everyone who’s important in our lives. “
