This wedding was an incredible PARTY. The lights, the feelings, the laughs, the dancing; all of it made the night memorable. Its always vital to know what is most important to you and your partner on your wedding day. For some people, it can be spending taking amazing portraits to decorate their home with. For others, it can be getting a couple hours to celebrate your new life with your best friends and family. Whatever the key feature for your wedding day is, make sure you leave plenty of time for it.

Wedding day for Teddy and Allie took place at the Merriweather Lakehouse – Autograph Collection hotel in Columbia, Maryland. Their venue was an excellent choice for wedding day. It allowed them to have the entirety of their day from morning prep to the reception in one location. Picking a singular location for all of wedding day minimizes travel time biting into your day.

Photographing a wedding like this is always so much fun because there is a mixture of old traditions and new beginnings. Being of Jewish heritage, Allie and Teddy both wanted to incorporate a traditional ceremony into their modern wedding but brought some new trends into their day. They included a first look and private vows and some night life vibes with neon signs during the reception.

I also really enjoyed that this wedding was in Maryland! Often times, Washington, DC is seen as the only place to get married. Maryland has a ton of amazing wedding venues as well. Maryland and Virginia wedding venues are always under the shadow of Washington, DC but these states have so much variety, customization and uniqueness for wedding planning. Its a venue I would highly recommend to all couples getting married.
