Timeless Ballroom Wedding at the St. Regis, DC

Shannon + Christopher

When I think of an elegant, classic and timeless wedding, I think of a movie from the 1960’s. I think of gentleman in tuxedos and top hats with women in ball gowns. I think of a band playing something funky in the corner while people dance the foxtrot and sip whiskey neat.

While Shannon and Christopher’s wedding didn’t exactly have all of those things, it felt that it would have blended right in. Their wedding at the St. Regis Hotel in Washington, DC was simple, it was classic and it was beautiful. Rain changed our plans slightly and moved us all indoors for the ceremony but the elegant decor of the reception really made their wedding day a masterpiece.

All of the details for the day came together to create a beautiful, timeless wedding theme. Shannon’s white dress, Christoper’s suspenders and bow tie all paired perfectly. Bridesmaids had on golden, sequin like dresses and the guys also in tuxedos as well. On the dance floor, everyone sparkled under the lights and while they did, we decided to sneak away for a few late night photos.
